Welcome to the paediatric dietetic led coeliac service! We are a team of Paediatric Dietitians who manage children and young people (<16years of age) across Glasgow with Paediatric GI consultant input.
You will be invited to an appointment following your child’s coeliac diagnosis, in the form of a virtual group session to provide additional support and education around a gluten free diet.
Once your child is established on a gluten free diet, they will be reviewed on the anniversary of their diagnosis and biannualy if your child is well. At review appointments, we will assess symptoms, growth, and dietary adequacy and how you and your child are managing aspects of the diet.
At these follow-up appointments, bloods are usually taken to ensure your child is well and responding to the diet. If you feel that your child may experience high levels of distress with having bloods taken, please contact us so we can arrange assistance from our play team or you can contact the Teddy Hospital directly on 0141 452 4009.
